Got this off the bay recently. I'm not much into onroad cars, but this really caught my eye. It is a 1984 Associated RC12i with the upgrade 'is' monoshock front axle. It also features the rear ride height adjuster, an aluminium powerpod with contemporary Reedy modified motor and carbon rear axle. But the main reason I bought it is the beautiful Ligier LeMans body. Its like new, nicely (brush)painted with vintage Gitanes decals. The chassis needs new tires and a good clean. Comments always welcome!

I do like this. Totally agree, the shell is very nice. Picked a nice colour too. Will you be able to get tyres..? I like the chassis which looks kind of compact. Good find and everything very nice.

Tires won't be a problem, the RC12 was build till the early 2002, I think.

Possibly the best bod I've seen on an RC12, great find!

Nice looking old school on road.

I hope the suspension mods make a difference, the only time I ever ran one was stock with a 540, and I remember it being a bit of a handful!! Though I was never really any good!! Love it, a great find, can't say I have ever seen the Ligier body.

Cristian, that chassis is much too soft for that front suspension. If I ever run it (which I probably will), I need to stiffen it up. I found an old RC12i manual on the internet, where a chassis brace is mentioned. I have to see it running.

Hey Christian, this Ligier body reminds me of my first ever 'real' rc car. It was painted with Humbrol olive drab/army green as I was advised then matt colours adhered to the lexan better than gloss. It was an Edinger first manufacture RC12 chassis with the solid white pvc top deck and the lumpy panhead steel screws under the chassis. How I'd love to get another one like that again - oh, but without the rusty solid steel axle
