For Jeremy
Back in 1992 or so, while visiting a friend from school, I saw he had an RC10. I, like so many of you guys, spent hours combing through R/C mags, dreaming of having one of my own. I had to have it. I bought the discarded 'toy' from him for $50, money I had saved for years prior to that. I was 12, so it sat there for a couple weeks until showing to my neighborhood friend, Jeremy Flett, and a few of his buddies. Jeremy and his friend, BJ Redmon, were heavy in the R/C scene. They built a track in the woods behind Jeremy's house and spent hours there, smoking cigarettes and drinking, even at their young age. They built a drivers tree-stand and had placed coping around the track edges. The dirt was soft and damp, rocks and sticks littered every turn. So often my friend Russ Agan and I would would hang out with them a little, though they always seemed way cooler than us. So, I obviously brought the RC10 to show Jeremy, and ask for advice. Well, he wanted it too, and somehow I traded it to him for a busted up Kyosho buggy, barely working with a stick radio. Yeah, he scammed me, I just wanted him to hook me up with a radio n'stuff, but he got me. My mom tossed the Kyosho somewhere down the line, and it seemed all was forgot for a long time. The RC10 shown is my first since losing the first one to Jeremy in 92'. Sadly, Jeremy has since passed, and I still think about him, his track, and those early days of R/C for me. I think losing that car to him has shaped my drive for collecting cars today, so this ones for him. I have modified some AutoGraphics decals for the 'Flett racing team' logo, and painted up an interior that Scollins made for me.

This is not the same car, it's just a tribute car. I don't know where my first one ended up.
