I've been working on this TCS Xtrail chassis scorpion project for awhile but today I was itching to run it and see what needs to be tweaked before I proceed. I have had to do a lot of cutting to the interior and the chassis to get the body to sit low. I removed most of the scorpions articulation by using scale shocks. Had to shorten the front links and driveshaft by 1/4' (7mm) to get the wheelbase to look right to me, it was close before but not close enough to look right ;) Anyway I have lots of deatiling to do. I'm not sure I want the typical roof rack on this one, I am looking more for a stock looking rig. I have not glued the new rc4wd rock creepers yet because I also have the new mud thrashers on the way and I want to compare them first. Anyway its been awhile since I went out to take proper pictures so I took a 4x4 drive this evening mainly to look at leaves changing color but spent a good hour testing this, very fun ;)

Looks good Seth - I like the tires; it will be interesting to see the others though. It always surprises me how un-aggressive the stock tires are on most Landys. These are a nice balance. Beautiful landscapes! I miss the area around Laramie and Centennial this time of year!
Boone
Looks great Seth, Awsome work as always!
SMOKE-DOG
Nice one Seth. Like the color you used. Nice background too.

oh yeah, been waiting for this one, was just talking about this with D. it looks awesome, and the pictures speak for themselves. great job. just needs a roof rack and some extra metal, and lots of junk for the long ride. yee haaa.
Wyoming
Thanks guys, not sure I want a rack yet, I've been driving off road for years and have never needed a roof rack, I had one on my FJ40 but it was so high I never once used it except to give the truck the safari look, I guess thats why most people do it though, and the guys in Africa who really use the racks never get seen lol!
Road Burner
Stunning truck in progress, Seth. Such beautiful landscape to play on, too.

Oh Seth, you know every guy likes a nice rack. Yes, you do want the rack,
ranger blue
wow Seth, are you sure that's a 1/10 and not a 1/1 awesome

Fantastic photograph!! Great color choice on the rover!
Origineelreclamebord
That looks very, very nice! Very scale, just find a driver for it. A Typical roof rack would look really nice on this car, so would a winch and a snorkel for the air intake...
Cinnamon
WoooW Seth !! Fantastic !! But forget about roofrack and such , all it needs are a scale british farmer with tweed jacket and cap , a dog and some sheeps !!

Very cool Seth, I have one of these xtrail chassis' sitting for another project, looks pretty good under the landy, but I spent too much time fitting it to an XC to change my mind.... I really need to get moving on it... I think you should do a roof rack I have a bunch of really good reference pics of the defender if you want me to send them to you. Once again, I love your scenery, reminds me so much of my home town down here on the dark side of the moon

Best Landy on TC, straight to favourites

Awesome work, I love the tires, the wheels and the stock look of it. I wouldn't change a thing, it's perfect!

Man that thing looks fantastic Seth -- I really like the color. (Perfect choice of back drop I might add!) Also think those tires really do the trick; glad to see such realistic designs coming out. Now if only they would do some scale 1.5' wheels and tires!!
trismagic
very familiar as there are lots of l real land rovers near me out in the country .It could have been taken 2 mins from where i live.Great ride and pics as always !!!!!!
OCD
BTW -- Kudos to you for going with the 'roof-rack-less' look; Sometimes I start to think that the gypsy wagon thing is a bit played out (No offense to gypsies!)
Steffen
Simply stunning, I gotta finish mine soon. Great work as always. Some Defender badges from [Click here] would be a nice touch.
alex-digital
These things look so real!!! Nice one!

Looks great Seth! Nice colors and beautiful surroundings! Rock on

Excellent job again, Seth. I agree with Cinnamon.. Forget about roofrack, and other offroad-stuff, and go for a simple 'user' type Land Rover.. It is SO beautiful as it is now, i think..
However, instead of the farmer and sheep, and with YOUR skills, i would say, build a Horse trailer for it instead.. Haven´t seen that done before, and if anyone is capable of doing that perfectly, it´s you..
Countrysite looking FABOLOUS also.
Cheers..

Oh man, that looks so good! Love the third pic from behind with the mud flaps. I think the colors are perfect too. I agree with you regarding the roof rack...not every off roader needs one.
Bin ^jammin^
Some beautiful photos there Seth, that is almost identical to a Landy that i pass most mornings on the way to work. I think you're right about the Thrashers, they will make it even more realsitic than it already is. Top job fella!
GAZA
Superb job again Seth. Just love the 1st photo it look's so real. Just needs a snorkel and one of Willys winch's just make sure he's looking the other way.
Wyoming
wow, thank you for the the nice comments guys, I'll set it aside and just drive it for awhile whilst to decide where I want to go. I have a bunch of other projects I need to work on
def4x4
Looks very landy, this defender. great truck and a beautiful color.like those wheels and tires.
Old Skool
Holy smokes C was right this thing is great. Love the color and the wheel combo. I know what you mean about the rack but go for a front bumper and a few lights. Keep up the great work
bunny555
Stunning. Straight to favourites.
chef_bikes
How did I miss this?!! Stunning Landy!! The wheel tyre/combo is perfect - makes it look really scale, great colour and detailing too. I wouldn't do a roof rack, it looks spot on as is.
Wyoming
Thanks guys, I might do a little grill guard on the bumper and a winch or driving lights.
BeetleOne
What a great truck you have done Seth, congrats !!
ukzz4iroc
Love it! Love it a lot
johnyboy76
looks gretat mate, where did you get the body from?
Wyoming
Ebay has the bodies from time to time, TC member RA1028 sells them so you'd have to check with him about one.
marshman
Very nice, may i ask what body it is from? Is it halstal? Im land rover mad.
Wyoming
I have no idea what toy it came from or who made it sorry, I just bought the shell itself on ebay.
