Red Cedar Fibreglass Hull Speed Boat.

I got this off Ebay pick up only cost AU $85.00 ,I was watching this boat thinking it would go way to high but I won it ,The guy who made it commisioned it for somebody for AU$500.00 but the guy didnt want it in the end ,The Boat apparently was a 1920's world speed record holder in the USA he made it from scratch no plans only having seen the boat in books .Its made out of Red Cedar with a Fibreglass Hull the stand is Red Cedar as well ,Its a very nice boat all the hard work has been done not much work need to get this baby to go ,I went to the guy's house and its was jamed packed with Boats ,sub's ,Trains ,tin plate naval ships (hand made) ,It was a boat wonderland I believe he had hundreds of boats in varies stages of being built ,He builds all his boats from scratch does not like using plans and dislikes kits ,I asked him how many he had himself none was he's answer (well none finished) all the jobs he was doing were commisioned based projects .This boat is better in the flesh the pictures do not do it justice I put the car beside it for some sense of scale the boat is 1.2 metres long X 400mm wide ,Apparently the Australian national titles are held down where I live in the country I never knew go figgure I guess that is why he builds boats way out in the country .I have never really been into boats but I have always liked this type of boat since I was a kid something about the old classic boats.
