First of all thanks to Mattias (Swedishwiking) for selling this to me, easy transaction and a good guy to deal with. And i needed to hire a safecracker to open the box it was so well packed!! I had been trying to get one of these for a while as it was my first ever car when i was twelve. I loved it as a kid, and as it was the super G it was a little better than the normal GH2 and much faster due to having a 540 and bigger pinion. I regularly smoked my mates 959, Thundershot and Madcap in our school model car club, and they never understood as 'it was only a Grasshopper!' I bought this off Mattias as a normal GH2 with its rubbish shocks, 380 motor, small pinion and normal wheels. I had managed to get hold of the dayglo yellow wheels a while ago off a TC member (can't remember who sorry) so it was simply a case of swapping the standard parts for the upgraded parts. Got hold of the pinspike/ribbed fronts in the week from Europro i think but i 'm just going to keep the rears on the normal tires as opposed to the Avante rears the Super G uses as standard. Oil filled shocks front and rear, (i've put Kyosho fronts on as i only had black Tamiya minis) and is running an Orion 15x2 motor on Dynamite Tazer 12t ESC. The motor pinion is the upgraded 18t Brat pinion. As i said this used to be fast with standard MSC and 540 but with a hot motor and ESC its nearly undriveable. I drive fast cars regularly, got a couple of decent brushless systems in some decent cars (Schumacher, Associated) but this was insane! Thought I'd give it a quick run last week and rolled it within seconds scuffing the previously unmarked shell and cracking the original front wheels, goddamit! It struggles to keep its rear wheels on the ground with the power, skipping like a stone across a pond mainly due the solid rear axle. I've tried to soften the rear shocks to help but i think i need to get it in a slightly bigger space, so in the upcoming Northwest bash in New Brighton its going to get fully opened up on the beach where hopefully i'll do less damage!! The box pictured is my original box and has been in the loft for 18 years but overall isn't too bad. One rip in the top left corner and the glue holding the corners in place had got old and allowed the corners to lift away so a little bit of tape cured that. Its got the label on it from Beatties still and the inner box is in great shape. Don't know why its got Neils name written on it though!!
