My old Scania (now sold)
Bought this through a friend, but it was not nearly where i wanted it to be, function-wise, so it has been modefied a bit since i got it.
Mods are, all in all:
Lengthened 3-axle chassis, 2 driving, 1 steering. propshaft from High Lift, powered by an Integy 55 turn lathe motor.
RC-equipment is the Futaba T7C 2,4 gHz TX, and matching reciever, for zero problems and glitches.
It is fully equipped with Servonaut electronics, featuring the Servonaut K30 T speedcontrol and onboard computer, along with a Servonaut SMX sound module, which replicates true V8-sound, along with consumption-tuned Turbo sound. It also has the 'exhaust scream' sound when shifting the gears. ;)
Along with this, fully proportional gear-shifting sounds, clutch and so on.
Also, the K30 T is able to perform a 'Tempomat' function, which is basically Cruise Control. I have, however, disabled this feature.
The K30 T also allows the user to control all sorts of light effects, so you can operate all single types of lighting from the reciever, like parking lights, blinkers (semi, or fully automatic), driving lights, high beams, and, like on mine, a custom-built set of warning lights and flashers in the grille and the rear of the cab. Everything is controlled through different stick-movements, kind of like the Tamiya MFU, but WAY better!..
In the event of signal loss, the Servonaut esc will disengage power to the motor, sound the air horn, and activate the emergency flashers. ;) Also, after a 'malfunction-stop' the onboard computer shows the exact reason for the stop on the LED-display in the cab (The thing with the red LED´s in the pic).
Also stuff like individual power-programming / brightness of the different types of light can be done on this thing.. The manual for the esc reads around 45 pages, :S
I have installed sevaral extra LED´s as you can see, trying to enhance a 'real-life look' on this truck.
I have to say, that after trying this setup, i am NOT going to purchase anymore MFU-like stuff.. It is simply too poorly made, and inferior, compared to the Servonaut-standards.. Sorry Mr. T.. ;)
Hope you like it. :)
Cheers..
Michael
