And so its crawling under my skin
So the cup of tea that was not my cup of tea is so crawling under my skin now. I never though I would enjoy this Bug as much as I am now. I have a great idea of what I want the end project to look like and I don't think there is anything even remotely like that been done before but I might be wrong. Stripping the paint is quite a paint as the first layer of paint is really stuck on there. The body had some cracks in the end but I glued that already. Was so weird to fing the gold colour under the red first layer. Will post more when I've made some more progress.

My original SS body was metalic red and gold. I can't remember much else alyhough I still have Super 8 films of it!

Looks like it was a nice candy apple red color.

I always hate this! It is so messy and what do you do with the liters of breakfluid afterwards but I guess after all the hussle you get something beautiful out of it!

Funny to hear about the gold paint underneath. My Ebay purchase'd Scorcher was painted in gold metallic lacquer paint that was the very devil to remove. The usual Easy Off (yellow label) had almost no effect, nor did a strong solution of Caustic Soda. After 6 months of using Tamiya Lacquer Thinner and finger nails the white bug was finally revealed to me and it was practically perfect. Unlike the other shells I had since off the bay which were only fit for runners at best 8-(. Cheers, Alistair G. (Live_Steam_Mad on TC)
