why a brushless + 3S in a blitzer might no be the best idea
Hello
Here is my loved blitzer beetle. i bought it as a NIB Chrome blitzer left in a LHS, 2 years ago.
I built it with a parma body, and have always wanted to make it as 'sandf beach dragster'.
All I want for it was speed.
The first try was with a LRP motor+esc combo, second hand taken out of a M-chassis, with a 7.2 3300 nimh pack
Not really good
So I bought a XL-5 esc + 550 motor from traxxas, and tried with a 8.4v battery pack
It was a little bit better, but still not what I was looking for.
Then, a friend sold me a 'little' (2200Kv) brushless motor, I bought a 3S 4000mha battery, and back on the field.
Woaw
Holy s####
I had NEVER had a car that fast. great
So yesterday, I went to the beach, at low tide, miles and miles of hard sand just for me.
And yes, it is fast, with a 'V' like Very Fast :)
Trouble is, I made 2 mistakes.
-I did not upgrade to ball bearings
- maybe a forgot a little spacer between the transmission case and the diff.
As you can see on the pics, it was hot:)
