Hornet 2009
This Hornet is the re-release. I thought I'd give it a different color scheme since I already owned a black one some 25 years ago. I left the back fin/spoiler thingy off for awhile because I like how it looks without it. After months of looking at my Hornet without the back fin thingy, I decided I'd go ahead and add it.The roll bars got messed up when I painted it due to a poor masking job, so I threw some reflective tape on the outside. The tape works really well because it's super sticky and thick. I'm glad I messed up because I like how the reflective tape turned out looking.
UPDATE 6/16/2009: This Spring I used my Hornet quite a bit as I was coming out of a long winter dreaming of running my RC's. Unfortunately for my Hornet I was in the mood to jump it more than actually run it on the ground. Well after many jumps I had to replace the tub/chassis and both rear body mounts as well as one of the rear dampers. Then of course I had to replace the body. This time around I thought I'd go with a white color scheme. I was inspired to use white after I looked at TC member BeetleLover's Hornet.

@Andersop....I agree, or at least NOW I do.

The Hornet one off the best ever made.

'Back fin thingy', do you mean a spoiler? Never understand why they are called that because they usually make the car better looking rather than 'spoil' it's appearance. Sorry v.poor attempt at joke.

LOL. anything to keep the back end from doing its own thing! great model, i love 'em!
wannabe scorcher
No looks better with out the spoiler' like the 1980 Desert cars ?
tamiyaonebay
@wannabe scorcher....ok, yeah I'm glad someone else was feeling that too. I do like it without the spoiler but I added mine because I had nothing else to do with my Hornet and I guess out of boredom I assembled it. Now I just like it both ways but it's nice to know that other TC members out there were on the same page
JWeston

tamiyaonebay
