F103 Monocoque Chassis
This is a project that I have been working on for a while. This is a monocoque chassis for the F103 chassis. The idea was to make something like the HPI chassis that is in my show room. This chassis here is two pieces that act like two shells to make the monocoque. The top portion of the chassis needs a little refining as its a little to large in some places. Some of the main features of the chassis other than the monocoque design is the way it is held together and the way the servo is mounted. The servo is mounted in the standard Tamiya way using the Tamiya servo mount but the screws are anchored in the top section of the chassis. Also the rear bolt for the suspension arms is also anchored to the top of the chassis. These bolts that are anchored to the top along with the four bolts for the battery mount make for a very stiff chassis. The chassis itself is molded in carbon reinforced plastic.
I hope you enjoy the pictures!!
