Hi all, this is my newly done project boomerang. a vintage original. it was restored a couple of years ago. The boomerang is my 2nd rc car when i was 14. brings back a lot of memories. The car that really brought me into rc. When tamiya rerelease the boomerang, i think its time i can do some custom mods to this old ride. The main feature here is the lowered bodyshell with super sabre red parts. With the low height super sabre rear damper stay, its possible to mount the shell -18mm lower than the original..Yes! :) The shell and wing had been carefully trimmed down to fit the chassis. The rear bodypost are replaced with a very short type. Original box art paint job is stripped, resprayed with a whole new paintjob. i chose a terra conqueror cross boomerang style graphics. Not too modern with hints of boomerang. To get the front shell lowered, i have trimmed down the nose height completely and is held down with a new custom made 3rd bodypost. This also eliminates the original setup which used the front stablizer bar as holder. Now its very secure. I have carefully placed the post position right at the black sticker portion(front window) so it will not look very visible. Also includes under the shell is a dust cover and a driver head just barely spaced in between the cover and roof. The driver body is sticker cut out. space is tight and not enough room. Other new parts are Top Force front and rear shocks. Fits well with maximum travel and ground clearance. The wheels are dyed scarlet red with dylon dye. The battery door pin has been modified with a custom made safety lock. a simple modification. More details and pics will be added in the 'how to guide ' on the battery door pin and 3rd bodypost. Overall, i'm pleased with the overall result. Its really a boomerang, it comes back to me for another restoration. Thanks for looking.. :-)

1 new spoiler mount 2 low profile look with standard ground clearance. 2 (before) note the battery holder and body space. 1 new rear bodypost -18mm shorter 1 3rd bodypost battery door pin with safety lock no more front stabilizer to hold the body.

That's some great mods there. The lower body gives a much nicer stance and the drivers head just completes it.

And nice surgery too doctor.

I like those improvements to a standard car. The flat driver is brilliant!

dr.roberts

@vintagenewbie, i used tamiya can sprays to get the faded effect. A lot of practice required too. Cheers.

That is simply stunning. You have taken a re re and turned it into something better than before with plenty of vintage scheme and feel. I am betting a different front bumper would make this thing look even meaner than it is. I hope someone needs all my extra Super Sabre red parts now that they have seen this.
