1st ever Beetle
After a visit to Jeffy's house a couple of weeks ago I got the buzz, (like I do!) to build a Beetle/Scorcher/Baja bug type car thingy.
So when Jeffy wasn't looking I put the first chassis I could put my hands on under my coat, made my excuses and left. Cheers Wayne! ;) As soon as I got home I ordered a Kamtec shell, a Monster Beetle driver and a set of Brat wheels. Over the next few days i fitted rc gear including a ESC I bought a year ago...and never used, and a 17x2 motor I had lying around.
All this because I saw a Scorcher in real life for the first time in 34 years. I've never had any desire to own an original Sand Scorcher...and still don't! Thats why I went down the cheap and cheerful road of Grasshopper/Hornet chassis and Kamtec baja body.
Anyway I'm quite pleased with result, I haven't gone to any great detail with the body 'cos I do plan to run it this summer and no doubt it will get battered!! hahaha :)

really nice. The brat wheels really suits the beetle body. Is this the lexan or the abs shell?

This is the ABS body, but I do have a lexan shell as well.

hehehehehe yes he has a lexan as well because the teacake was in to big a rush to get a body he'd ordered and paid for the lexan shell before he'd realised what he'd done didn't you Gary

Sometimes I get a bit eager...which is a good thing! Other times it cost £12 plus p+p!!!!

I got both ABS and Lexan of the same body too. Use the ABS as the actual body and the lexan one cutout to be the clear windows.
