Found this rather sorry looking Clod down our local council 'Recycling facility'. Its bodyshell is badly damaged & all the tyres were perished but I could see that structurally it seemed sound. The Clodbuster (along with the Egress) Was one of my dream Tamiya R/C models when I was a kid, so have been pretty excited about re-building this one :-) Its this model that got me looking on the net for parts & eventually to this site... & found out that my junkyard Clod has the more desirable 'Bow-tie' Grill & 'Chevy' tailgate. I have since sourced a number of new parts including; Shell, Chrome 'J' parts,Tyres, a set of springs, Ball race set & Ali anti-rotation brackets. The truck is currently being re-built after diss-assembly & cleaning/polishing every part. I have also made some reinforcing plates - following the design of the items now used in the SuperClod. The plan is to use & enjoy this beast & i've got a pair of ex-race 19 turn motors & a Tekin speedo to use. Will update this with some finished pics when its done ;-)

Edited to add new pictures. Finished off the main build of the truck over the weekend, just got to hook up the electrics, paint the shell & glue on the tyres. The main bulk of the truck is in surprisingly good condition despite how badly beaten-up the old shell was - despite the usual odd scratch, she's come up a treat!

Getting there! Need decals, roll hoop & spot lamps to complete!

Finally finished! (well almost) Took the opportunity to take some suitably festive pics

Ha ha - jeffy, I didn't get the bike or cylinder head from the tip - however you do seem some surprisingly nice bikes down there sometimes! You're right about the cylinder head its a spare I have for this; [Click here] The plan is to port & polish it, fit a re-ground cam I have for it & swap it over onto the car with bike carbs :-D
