the chrome monster again.
this is last part of this project.
had enough of stripping bodies and finding all kinds of nightmares.
for this one i used a blitzer beetle body ,new with all new parts.repro nose cone from jsourbeck(ebay) which i blended ,so no lines.
really liked my green and white mb body which i gave back to rallyebaz, which inspired me to make this.
i found the red and white kamtec body at work,in my locker .forgot i even made it,this will eventually go on one of my crawlers.
now im gonna concentrate on running rc's for a bit.
i really love my new mighty bull and lunchbox, i have some plans for them now.

Great detail on that MB-body. ThereĀ“s really no substitute for the genuine Tamiya but the Kamtec is really cool looking too!

Looks very nice. Some killer alloy shocks would finish it off.
What did you use to blend the nose cone? I tried tamiya putty but never got it as smooth as you did it on this car.

Another classic combination, well done! You said if you were to do another one it would be burgandy, well I was thinking along them lines as well (it was either burgandy or mustard). Was it hard masking round the bonnet for the different colour or did you use some sort of stencil???

i screwed the nose cone then superglued it. milliput red to blend .

i masked with the thin blue pro tape you get on ebay.it goes round the bends real easy, then the centres with 3m tape.was easy, but time consuming.was gonna use some cheap ebay mb decals to mask bonnet but didnt win them.mustard would be good .or a herbie monster beetle would be cool.

with the bonnet ,i filed, then sanded it.then primed it.if there was any lines or bumps ,i sanded and primed again ,repeating till smooth.final sand with 1200 grit.

Nice work Ben; I have always thought the Monster Beetle looks a bit too plasticky (sp?), but with a chrome chassis and wheels it looks really smart. And I do like the green - definitely one to keep

Oh man, that is one mean looking machine! Nice work with blending that nose in with the rest of the body! You are truly the MB expert!
