Well after running this chassis with the JPS Ford Ranger shell on it, I decided I prefer the Bugs. To me the Ranger looked odd with the VW suspension. The camber on the rear is strange when driving it. So I couldn't pass up a BIN on Ebay for an SS shell complete with glass, nose cone and driver for very little money. There was virtually no damage to the shell only a small chip out of the engine lid where it must of hit off of the cage a some stage. No gravel rash on the gutters and no scratches or cracks anywhere. I'm going to keep this one for now and sell the other one. I went for a satin finish because they just don't look right to me when the are shiney. I doubt the owners of real Baja Bugs spend hours and hours polishing them. Door handles front indicators and License Plates I produced myself. I also made the rear cage. The gearbox is a MK1 that has been on a lathe at some stage. I will take hotter motors I currently have a Parma Team Spec in it and it flys. The full length alloy chassis plate I added for strength.

A rare shot - I'm the proud owner of 2 SS's

See what you mean about satin finishing. The 2nd pic is fantastic (actually all of them) but you really get the effect there. Absolutely awesome and brilliant work!

Very tidy looking Scorchers, excellent contrast between the satin black and chrome.
What paint or material did you use to create the chrome effect body line?
