Shredding dirt!!
I'm impressed!!! Gave it an absolute thrashing expecting to be replacing parts that night but no....! It took everything I threw at it and kept coming back for more! I found the only real problem being the gearbox (diff casing)! Being so low to the ground it tended to hit stones and take to the air.. resulting in the car ending up on its roof. Apart from that.. on the loose stuff it seemed tail happy which suits me and believe me!.... I loved every minute of it! Also very quick on a 540 motor which was very suprising as I dont remember my Grasshopper being that fast on a 540! If you aint got one go out now and buy one.... they are amazing, tough, fast and very agile!! Why didn't I get one sooner!! ;)

I agree. Very tough, fast and durable. I have issues keeping my battery cover on when I'm out thrashing away. I thrashed mine so much in the past couple of months that I've replaced lots of stuff but considering what I was putting mine through...I'm very pleased with the Hornet! Good to see someone else having as much fun with it!

I've had a half dozen over the years and agree completely, simply fun machines, looks like you had just that with it

The 9th pic brings it all back! It was 1987 & i loved my Hornet. I Ragged The Arse of mine. Lol. I Think its safe to say it took a lickin but kept on tickin! Every day without fail i would take it out in the sand dunes of Oman, and drive the wheels off it. It ended up with a hole in bottom of g/box,a split at rear of front arm mounts on chassis, a bumper that was hanging on with a prayer as it was so worn away underneath & rear tyres that were split along inside side walls! But i would still drive it Lol. So i agree wid ya! they are very tough. i wish i could of got spares in 87, as i would probably still have the old girl now. I must grt me one for christmas.

Well put mate - the spirit of fun is strong in the Hornet! If you haven't already got them then get yourself a Subaru Brat and a Wild Willy 2 as well - you'll never stop smiling!
