Update - Body Repairs
This has been a slow project so far but finally making good progress with the restoration of the body shell.
Many thanks to Superchampjohn who very kindly donated a couple of rear wheel arches to replace the damaged ones. This was the worst of the damage to the shell and the most difficult to fix. I chopped off the damaged pieces - removing one completely and the other cut-off along the mould line. After a couple of failed attempts at sticking the new pieces on I found a product called Plastex which is kind of a liquid plastic that you have to mix together. It dries quickly and creates a very, very strong bond - I would really recommend this for any plastic/ABS type repairs. I also used it to rebuild the area around the front body mount hole which was completely missing. The body needs some final filling and sanding in a few spots but is now almost ready to paint (finally)
I'm really pleased with the results so far. The body was almost scrap when I got it, now it looks like it has real shelf queen potential! Thanks again to John and all those who offered their advice - much appreciate it.

Wow, that is some slick repair work. Looks great!! I will be looking for that product (Plastex) that you used to attach the rear wheel arches, and I will use it to attach the front arches, or Fenders, as we call them, to my Sand Scorcher Body that I am working on. Thanks for these inspiring pics!!

Top work - where do you get plastex from?

do a search for PLASTEX on ebay. I think it comes in 3 colours: white, black and clear. they also have a website you can order direct.
