Well it's that time of year again...time for the vinatge 3-speed 3rd Annual Big Air Event! The motto

this year (just like any other year) is the usual 'Go Big or Go Home'. This year there's a new

contestant joining the competion as shown in the pics below. I will say that; no 3-speeds were harmed

during this competition and the 'drive it like you stole it' big air event only happens once a year. So

I hope you enjoy the pics and see you at next year's event!

I promise that these trucks are not driven like this all the time :)

My wife and I had fun driving these today and she gets the credit for taking the photos. Thanks for
stopping by and checking out our pics! -Brian

This is the great thing about the old 3-speeds, scale chassis, scale speed, heavy, the jumps are realistic, not oversized! nice pics!

Thanks guys! @ Volksrod - that is true, these heavy 3speeds do give way to realistic jumps. Another nice thing about them is the ballon tires give them a nice pop off of small jumps without much speed at all...making it a little less risky for an ill-fated landing

Wow Brian, you are a brave man getting these beauties airborne. These are some great low angle action shots, kudos to the wife!

Thanks Jim! I think our little Cannon camera has been taking more of a beating over the past years, being used on the ground to take all the low angle shots like these. Well worth it though, as these pics and memories that it has taken, will last a life time!

Nice to see them in action, i wouldn't dare to try mine as those axles becomes really brittle. Looks like you have too much fun with the Blazer, the rear tire is about to blow out.. LOL (see last pix)

Fantastic pics Did they bounce or leave a crater on landing

Naxman

5-Jul-2009

Thank you all for the nice comments! @JYCM3 - yes the rear tire does need to be fixed...it's missing the plastic insert and gives the tire that cool blow-out look @jeffy - these heavy trucks land pretty nicely overall...some slight bouncing...and of course there is an occasional crater or two sometimes!

Thank you for the nice words Daniel! It's always a lot of fun to take out the 3 speeds. I'm currently working on a vid that was shot this same day. It will show some live action of the old 3 speeds!
