Brief description: last year I worked restoring a 1982 Super Champ buggy. Frustrated by the lack of a driver (you got to remember last year there was no 'Buggy Champ' in sight, and prices for the original driver were prohibitive), I turned into some extra parts I had for other Tamiya models. Specifically, a Grasshoper and a Black Foot driver. I decided to make the driver myself, with the use of a knife and a plain piece of clear plastic from a regular headphones package. I only needed paint (matt black for the base) and glue. Have a look at these pictures for further reference. hopefully someone might find this of use :)

What I ended and what I started with You need things like these to make it This is how it looks under This is the driver I like this Champ driver! Side by side: orig / BF / homemade Champ driver Installing the driver This is how you can do it Final results

I just sent a new BigWig driver to a fellow TC member in the States. I think I sent you a message about it but you never replied to it. Anyway, hope your bigWig project goes great!

What a fantastically simple solution to an expensive problem!! That is awesome. Thanks for the great idea. The SC and RR really *need* that driver to look right.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, a simple solution to a problem that -prior to the Buggy Chamo release- used to be very expensive to solve
