another update on my SS project. This has taken alot of time so far. Replacing the rear wheel arches has been the biggest challenge but thanks to some help and inspiration from Superchampjohn I have managed to rebuild the rear end with excellent results.
I still need to finish off the detail - door handles, mirrors, lights, indicators etc. but I think this will stay like this for at least a few more months. (I don't want to spend stupid money on the remaining parts while there's still a 'sniff' of a SS re-release in the air!)
Hope these pictures give someone else the inspiration to restore a beaten up shell rather than just scrap it ..

so far so good this is what it looked like to start with rear damage reconstruction finished (more or less)

Wow, nice job. I love restoration pictures like this. That rear end is a restoration master piece, looks like a completely different shell.

That paint is soooo smooth. Absolute sweet resto the work on the rear end must have been a real pain but the work is flawless. Nice work cant wait to see it finished.....

Rere Scorcher or not, I will still love working on these old buggies, altought the rere will be bashed hard as runners. The job made on those fenders are absolutely amazing. A little DIY perhaps?

It is great to see you bring back an original shell. Re Re or not, the craftsmanship and quality of this restoration is admirable and must be very satisfying for you personally. Great job. Now all you need to do is add it to the SRB group SIG.
