Hi there. This here`s my completed Sand Rider project. I`ve gone for the white Tamiya wheels and Pro Line Dirt Hawg tyres seeing as I had them lying arround. I think they look ok but with the tyres being oversised runs the risk of overheating. The only two pinion sizes offered are 19T and 17T so i`ve modified the motor plate to fit 20T and 16T. For this run i`ve installed an 18T motor and 16T pinion. All was ok for a while but as predicted it was short lived as the motor died. It was fun while it lasted. So for the two jump pics which were taken at another location, I installed the 540. After a while it to was getting hot too so I ended the day. All in all I must say how fun it was to drive with the RR body, it really made a difference in enjoyment compared to the SV body. I might try so source a larger spur if one exists. Well hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed driving the car. Cheeres.

Sand Rider and sand...perfect terrain. Getting ready to ride that sand. Lets make tracks! Drift it! Turn! Sand spray. Wheel spin. Jumping around. Touch down! End of another fun run.

I like it! If Tamiya had re-released the Rough Rider on a modern chassis this is probably similar to how they would have done it.

Looks great, nice action shots. My DF-02 also had overheating problems due to Pro-Line tires.

very nice. Plus you have the advantage that this car actually has some handling unlike the terrible originals

Fantastic! One of my favorites for sure. I love this chassis. I'm running the same tires on my baja bug version of the DT-02 and I like them. I agree though, that I wish there were more gearing options.

Thanks very much for the feedback guys. I will either get a driver or do something with the windows, it does look a litttle empty. As for the handling, sure it`s terrific and a dream to drive, although I don't mind the querky handling of the SRB`s. Cheeres.
