I converted a Buggy Champ 2009 to a Ranger with some hopups and BL motor. Here's my shopping list ranger
Buggy Champ 330 euro + bodyset Blackfoot 250 euro+ Nosram 7.5 Brushless 180 euro + spectrum 60 euro + steering servo 45 euro + chassis carbon 45 euro + Brat re-re wheels and tires 65 euro+ rads alu wheel covers 75 euro + metal diff 140 euro + alu spur 48euro + Repro decals 35 euro with a total of 1273 euro!
That a lot of money for a re-re so here's my advice: for that money you can buy and built a NIB Ranger! But I'm not complaining! I loved every second of building , tuning converting the body... I discussed this with KoenC and we agreed that I know with this re-re I will run it (lightly) and in all passion you will loose track of the total cost of your project. But in the end it's all worth it if you see the result. Tamiya is expensive and who's in it for the money, get another hobby and who's in it for the passion, ROCK ON and built something.
I will post pictures later of all the modification I've done on the motorpod for a BL, and the silver carbon rear bet on the rangerbody.
I hope you like it
update 08/2010; I added a RC channel suspension for 100 euro and a grey bumper for 65 euro....

Absolutely beautifull. I don't think Tamiya will re-re the whole Ranger kit but I really think they should do the bodyset. They would sell in droves.

do the Brat rere front rims fit on the Ranger? I tried the same but it didn't work. The ranger rims were deeper, so that the tires with the brat rims came in contact with the suspension arms...

Very nice work on it, I figure if one can't afford to run them after dropping the cash to build them then one shouldn't build them, now go have some responsible fun with it, quite a beauty.
