1998 BTCC 2wd Audi Quattro (or not)
this is Ivan Mullers 2wd 1998 Btcc Audi .The Quattro 4wd system had been outlawed in BTCC after the 1996 car trounced everything before it so the car went all 2wd (hence the crudely crossed out QUATTRO on the front windscreen as per the real car) in 2wd form the car was way more inferior that when 4wd with Muller finishing the championship 6th overall and his team mate Bintcliffe in 15th but regardless i still had to make a repro to add to my slowly growing BTCC collection :)
hope you like it

Nice Monty, although you're a year out.
The 97 Audi lineup was Bintcliffe and Beila and the car was still 4WD. It wasn't until 1998 that Muller joined the team and they reverted to 2WD after the Quattro was outlawed.
During the 1997 season they were well off the pace having spent the winter developing the 2WD. After the success of 96 they expected to be right there for 97, but everyone else (Renault in particular) had made huge leaps over the winter.

Strange how when one car dominates they make them remove what was giving them an advantage rather than others keeping up. I recall the 3 series bmw had great abs so they could brake much later into corners next thing ABS banned. They don't make a good footballer hop on one leg or a better dart player throw with his other arm??? Anyhow another great car Monty
