I've noticed most Bruiser owners like to polish the chassis frame of this model, and make it look shiny -mirror-like. I polished mine, too, but when I look at it in the shelf it kind of annoys me, cause everybody knows real trucks just don't look like that.
Well, as you can see in the pictures, ALL of the promotional photos of the 1985 Toyota 4X4 Bruiser show the truck with the chassis frame painted black.
Seems to me that Tamiya made this truck to look like how it looks in these pictures when finished, although there isn't any information in the Bruiser manual as to what paint to use, Sadly.

I agree for the scale look the chassis parts and axle need to be black. When I bought my Mounty some of the alloy parts had been powder coated and to be honest it took some shifting however dipping them in paint stripper removed it ok with no ill effects. So be an option for a non permanant effect ?? -- anyways why is it sat on a shelf LOL get it running

I'm still trying to setup the radio gear so I can not run my truck yet. Too busy nowadays!
Forgot to say that not a single promo picture of the 1993 Toyota 4X4 Mountaineer model shows that truck with the frame painted.

Erich you should take care with the 3rd gear, a wrong setup of the shift rod could damage the super gear which is nylon. Give me your phone or skype and I will call and comment my experinece about this.
