Build from a dirty Scorcher chassis (thanks loaded), and an old Ranger shell (thanks sirandy).
I have added:
- A new Buggy champ bumper, radiobox and rearcage.
- Subaru Brat wheels, and pargu2000's wheelcovers.
- Loaded's carbon chassis.
- Blackfoot windows
- Stickerbod's decals
- Head with helmet (from a Rough Rider :-)
- Ballbearings all over
- Changed the rear dampers to remove the extreme camber
There is still a few things to be done, before I can add it as 'restored'
If you liked those pictures, you should see these...
My first Scorcher project.

Thanks
I always get the casted alloy parts beadblasted, and then polish up the rest. That makes a world of difference.
The radiobox/bumper and rearcage were pretty hopeless to repair, so I cheated and bought some Buggy Champ replacements.

That is one fine looking Ford Ranger .I think I will have to copy a picture or two for my own refference .And to think that is what you started with in pic 2 outstanding job .Really superb job

The worste parts is, this Ranger was build to be a runner, and now I do not have the heart to run it lol. It just happend to turn out better than expected...
Anyway, I solved the problem, by buying another Ranger shell on ebay, to bash that instead.

Wow, very nice looking truck. I want to get mine underway. I will have to pick on Andy's decals and say they need cutting out where the emblems are on the fenders and the door locks are, but I really like the toned down decals without a ton of sponsor decals all over. Your body looks like it could be the early version with the LONG front wings as you call the fenders over in UK?? And the sunroof looks cool too, but I found that if you were to take a nice fine marker pen and add a black line around it, it simulates the rubber gasket like used on the full size version. You can see my feeble attempt on my MB in my showroom where I added a chrome plate to the sunroof. Keep the pictures coming.

You could always cut the decals to support the text/doorlock. I prefer they are like the originals, giving us the option to leave it as it is.
Im pretty sure this is the late version (long wheel opening)
In my understanding, the early version has short wheel opening, and deep dish front wheels.
stickerbod
Very nice Jimmy, it is the later one with the larger arches, i have had both and have done the decals to bit both, lucky I sent you the right ones!

Looks fantastic. I hope when I get around to doing one of my f150's it comes out 1/2 as good as this and I'll be happy

I always thought the longer arches was the early model, now I know better. Andy, good thing you have both, I just have to make up my mind on what color I want. Here is a quick question, if the the wheels are deep dish, does that mean we can't use the re re Brat wheels on the chassis?? I don't know what my chassis was as it came without a body on it.
The Hobbymaster
Very nice F150, really looks the part!! well done. Cheers Ian

Cramer, The chassis don't mind what kinda wheels you put on, but Im not sure the short wheel arch body likes the brat wheels. Maybe the tyres will rub the body?

Now that is one nice looking truck.
