Schumacher TopCat - box only wish I still had the original contents :-/
I found this residing in the top of my old wardrobe round at my parents house. It brought back happy memories of getting the TopCat as a Christmas present all those years ago. I remember that at the time my parents gave us a limit as to how much we could spend on our presents - this TopCat was on offer at the local model shop (RJH models in Corby) As the Cougar had been released, so was just within our Xmas budget!..... I had to wait until the following Christmas to update the car when I was brought the Cougar conversion kit. The TopCat/Cougar has long gone but the box still houses my old Scalextrics.

Always loved the shape of the Schumacher cars, esp the 4wd one they did!

used to race one of these topcat, but as much as I like the front suspension, once there is enough dirt on the pivots, it would lock up the front suspension, still would love another one now....

The Topcat was so cool - I co-owned a second hand one with my brother when we were kids. I remember the initial stir they caused at my local track - such a radical design that could have been good. But my favourite was the Cougar - a fantastic car straight from the box. Both now long since gone, so it was nice to read your post. Cheers Dan for sharing this with us.

Thanks for your comments guys, as I say, I wish I still owned the actual car :-/ Jammer; yeah the Cougar was a much better proposition... the front end of the TopCat was a fine balancing act of getting the springing & damping just right so that it returned to the desired ride hight without being too hard - however the main problem I had with the TC front end was ironically breaking the plastic pegs on the front plate that the crash back bands wrapped around. Would love another to have a play with to try & fine tune the system - it was such a neat design but sadly flawed.
