Photos of the Track at Boondall and of the cars that were there for a drive.

It was a very long day for myself and my son Joey. We were up at 4:30am to load the car and left home at 5:30am. Arrived at the Boondall entertainment centre at just after 8:30am. To my surprise there was going to be more than just the SE QLD TC guys driving there. Some of the guys from RC Tech forum had also turned up for a drive.

The track was very rutted out and very rough. I wasn't able to get more than 3/4 throttle on the main straight (still fast). Joey had a blast and drove well all day with his box standard DF03 on 1400mAh Tamiya Ni-Cd gold packs. I was very proud of his effort. The practice he'd put in on the backyard track showed.

It was a great day had by all with only some minor damages apart from my Blazing Star. I attempted to do the 2 jumps as a pair of doubles and it didn't go so well. Made the jump with ease but destroyed the rear gearbox and had the rear diff burst out and scatter parts all up the track.

We packed up at about 1pm and arrived home at 4:45pm after a quick stop at KFC for some lunch. Don't need to say I was a touch worn out after driving for almost 6hrs in the Pajero and 4hrs with the RC.

Comments welcome as always :)

Seems like a very cool track to me! I just wish I had something like this in my backyard (and by the way that my backyard itself was in that kind of landscape )

This track isn't in a backyard. It's at Boondall Entertainment Centre in Brisbane. There's a lake for RC boating on the other side of the carpark too. Electrics only at both venues.

Great track and a great line-up of vintage racers. Pity about your Blazing Star - better luck next time.

Entertainment Centre? Nice! I wish they'd have such centres near my home then - or I was the owner of the centre

I wish that I was able to get there earlier than 1pm but it was good to meet you and your young bloke and have a chat as you were packing up. Hopefully you can come down again on a day that I am not working. Thanks for putting up a pic of my Wild One and Blazing Star even if I didn't get to run them properly.

The yellow & red Sand Scorcher used to be mine, good to see it being used, I sold it before I ever got to put on the beach.
