I wanted to share the build for my Xmas entry this year. With all the amazing entries it took me ages to come up with an original idea.

Here is the build of how I created part of the final entry. I hope you like it.

Check my movies to see it go.

The chassis is based on the Tamiya Tomy Q-Steer platform (available in all good US toy shops for $14.99 - shameless plug).

I then chopped down a 1:64th Matchbox bug (see where this is going?), based on the original Sand Scorcher (thanks Felix - he was the guy responsible for releasing it). I love that rear engine detail.

It actually works, has working front and rear suspension.

Stay tuned for how this one turns out :)

Here is what you will need Cut the Grasshoper down - leave the nerf bars on. Break the bug down cut free the rear engine detail Masked and ready for final paint :) -Love that rear engine detail :)

Really nice little scorcher build. I'd like to do it same way. Can you tell me how do you masked the body?
It looks like toothpaste...

Mibaxx thanks, the body was masked with liquid clear mask. You paint it on and then once dry you can cut out areas to mask/unmask.

I was aware of the model, but only just found this how-to thread - Micro engineering at it's finest!
