I had the sad experience of breaking the scorpion's gearbox when trying to remove the default bushings (I wanted a full ballraced scorpion).
This is how I succeeded to remove them with my second try.
Hope this will help someone.

All the tools you need Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 and voila! easy isn't it?

Nice how-to! Do you have the same kind of trick for the suspension arm (this is the part I broke trying to remove the bushings). By the way, is there a 3D Scorpion/Tomahawk in the air?

Hello Sayroll
This is a 'how to' model I've made very long time ago. The measures aren't accurate at all, just for the sake of explanation. Yet, the envy of modeling the Scorpion is growing on me, because the chassis really is a milestone for me. It will be a Turbo Sco or a Toma I guess

And for the sus arms issue, I got rid of the bushing by flamethrowing them (with a burner, faster than with a lighter). Once the oil on the metal darkens, just gently tap the sus arm on a wooden piece, and the bushing will fall freely.

This won't work - whichever bearing is tightest will still be stuck in case after the loose one is pushed out
In order to press both bearings out, after first bearing is out you need to add a washer under the nut that's just pressed the bearing out so nut doesn't pass through the hole, then tighten the nut against the stubborn bearing, still risking trashing the gearbox!

Hello Twinsetsan
I succeeded 3 times since I got this method tuned, so I was perhaps too lucky
but you're absolutely right, I also used a M4 washer to block the nut after the 1st bushing was gone. The thing is, once you grasped the principle, it's just a question of being smart to adjust it to your needs.

Ah see, you save the washer as a trade secret

I sure wish i had a turbo scorpion to try this out on. : )

If you use a little heat from a good heat gun or blow torch the bearings will fall out of there own accord due to the casting swelling . I use the same process in my job to remove old bearings from motorcycle crank cases and gearboxes. Cheers!

Well I just used this system to fully bearing my turbo scorpion trans. I had to fiddle dink a little and use some little washers and spacers to make it work. but it turned out great. and my bearings are in. I just did my tranny. the rest of the kit can wait. as i got so many projects going on. Thanks for this info.
