December 2009: Well, there comes a time when you've got to stop re-touching the paintwork, put the stickers on, and laquer it! Which is what I've finally managed to do this week! it was kinda fiddly getting all the details done - shut-lines, window rubbers, wipers etc etc. and I wouldn't say they are perfect - but I'm happy with the result for what is really the first time painting a plastic shell properly...

I decided to go with the retro colours and graphics - seemed appropriate for the Beetle really... I also tried to imcorporate a few 'realistic' details, such as the half open driver's window and sunroof. Not sure where to put the aerial yet - probably centrally through the rear window - the car is a runner, but with the aerial coiled inside at the moment. These are only a few snaps I took this evening - I plan to photograph it more realistically, then enjoy driving it! Hope you like it too! Jx

The Fro-Sco is finally finished! Graphics repro from TamiyaClub shop Driver 'Austin' looks pleased with the result! I love the frog rear suspension Sunroof part open - body pins in MB/BB position Personal registration plates! Sill rubbers, shut lines and part open window More detailing on window rubbers and wipers Too many crashes indoors, so fitted nudge bar Can't wait to run it properly outside!

If you liked those pictures, you should see these...

Hi Jeffy - yes, I used some spare mountings horizontally above the rear shocks - it means the rear of the body is a little jacked up, but it really needs that clearance for the rear suspension on full compression... I've put the clips on the inside, as the mounts are a bit short for putting clips on the outside - looks neater too of course...

Nice ! Love the half opened driver´s window ! Yes, putting the aerial through the rear window is a good idea, that´s what i do on my RC Scorchies.
