Thanks to Christian (Dante77) and Kozuko (always get your name wrong sorry) this project is go! Christian bid on German ebay for me and won the chassis, sent it to me and everything- awesome help from an awesome guy :). I got the IROC 1/8 model from the USA and the idea came from Kozuko (sorry again :)) with his '63 Vette. I've had to drill holes and dremel away a fair amount of plastic but finally the wheelbase is correct and the body will sit on the Kyosho Jaguar XJ220 chassis. Many updates to come on this great project but this could take a year or so. Thanks again guys.

This is going to be a fantastic project. I have one of these 1:8 IROC-Z28 kits in the loft as well, but I don't think I would have the nerve or time to set about something of this magnitude!! Cannot wait to see the ongoing photos!

Felix, I certainly hope you NEVER part with this when you are done. I might suggest getting the alternate Kyosho wheels that they used on the Vette/300ZX as they would look like a better period upgrade with those cool tires. I plan on trying my hand at some custom chassis cars in another year, but my bodies will be lexan, not styrene model kits, so I can wish you great luck and hope for more progress photos when you get there.

This is going to be sweet! You don't by chance have the stock Kyosho body mounts for the xj lexan body? I've been looking for some for nearly 3 years!
