1/8 Rally X 1980's style
Spotted a Garbo Gepard for sale in the classifieds. I used to race one back in the late 1980's before replacing it with a PB Mustang. The Garbo was fitted with a Black top Nova Rosi and the Mustang with a Red top motor. We had our own oversize aluminium heat sinks machined to replace the Red tops for better cooling. I raced this in the BRCA 1/8th Rally X championship. Happy days 8-)
Unfortunately I sold the PB to help fund the deposit on a house. From memory, the chassis kit, engine and radio gear was worth around £800

Nice cars, You must of been racing around the same time as me, 87, 88, 89, best years for me, I had the X2 Mustang, Serpent Cobra, and then one of the first early Burns, great days indeed, done a full year of Nationals in 89, ended 12th

Hi Biscuit, Yes sounds like the right sort of time frame. I used to race with the Cotswold Rally X club. We organised a 4hr endurance race sponsored by BT at the local Airport. We even had a couple of international teams enter.

Had both those cars . Garbo could take more abuse .I still have a PB Mustang but wish I never got rid of the Garbo

Keep an eye for a Garbo, they do come up for sale occasionally
