Got this on Ebay a while back but never did much with it as it came as a new build with a heinous orange painted Alfa which would normally be a gorgeous body but someone had decide to paint it orange and left half the decals off, anyway, I was looking into getting a HPI cup racer 240Z, but wanted a rear wheel drive car instead of the 4WD HPI chassis, and after some measuring, found it to be the same as my Tamiya M04R, so I ordered up an cup racer Z body and a set of cup racer wheels fully thinking that it was the same size as the Tamiya M size tires, I just ordered the wheels, after getting everything in, turns out the HPI had made a all new size for wheel/tires, it is a bit bigger than the M size tires as that the M size tire will not fit over these rims, so another $35.00for rims and another $12.00 for paints later, I now have all the parts needed to make the car look correct, and I also added a Tamiya DYNA TECH 01R and an old school Futaba ESC to make the car run, of cause it also have full bearing, and I begin to start to make a Tamiya/HPI version of the Devil Z from the Japanese anime Wangan Midnight, it has the correct Tamiya metalic blue and I backed it with Pactra blue streak paint, the front lower air dam is painted Pactra black with another coat of real black rubber paint (this is used to dip tools handles in) and after that I used an old Tamiya driver body and an HPI rally driver head mounted on a bracket made from some parts from an M03 parts tree which mount to one of the mounting ear on the Futaba ESC, I think it turns out pretty cool, the detail of the HPI body is great, what do you guys think?
