Well here's a few basic pics on the making of a Willys Wheeler driver .I made the arm mount tube from a plastic tube donated by Nigel WW-Nut - cheers , this is bonded in with Milliput and a hole drilled through his arm and reccessed on top to 'flush ' the screw below the arm line
I'm no photographer ,so don't kill me !!

collection of parts to start with cut the hands off SS driver and willys arms attach hands to SS driver body and cut out neck head trial fit slice a section out of body 3-4mm approx body re-bonded, braced inside with plastic card filling to helmet joint and thumbs are re-shaped white primered willy side view willy WW-nut Nigels driver for comparison - cheers Nige.

Very cleaver. Can you show a close up of how the figure mounts to the chassis?

With the re-release of the Sand Scorcher I can see a lot of driverless Wheeler owners doing this. Nice work Kev

Cool little lad you created! Btw, that chassis looks like fun. Is it in any way? Never had one of these, so would love to hear from the enhousiasts!

Thanks Goldnest , yes these are great fun and a very 'interesting' design of chassis ,lots off stuff to mess around with which I like . I had a Wild Willy 1 years ago and loved it and now after driving the old model Pajeros and experiencing the stunt wheelies again , I wanted one of these as I also love the body shell design - all in all you MUST get one - enjoy

Again, very well done. Maybe that´s close to the way Tamiya did it with the development of the original prototype of the wheeler driver !? Willy is the best, no doubt !

Thanks again , I think so too , the idea came to me when I was looking at an original Wheeler driver and saw the similarites between the SS drivers body and the Wheeler drivers body , a bit of cutting ,sawing and bonding , and here we are

Yes indeed, even finaly got replacement for the missing airintakes.
btw. the boxed driver that comes with the VW T2 does not have the airintakes and the rollbar(which comes without the metal inside)
