Hi all
I have restored an old spare chassis that I bought when I first got my original car 30 odd years ago ! I gave it a full mirror polish and left it at that! as for the body its an original spare part I got my hands on a couple of years ago, at the time the new cars were coming out with the LEDs so I thought I would convert this old body shell to have LEDs as well. I can honestly say it took me a long long time to complete, many many late nights getting it all worked out before it even saw any paint! I made a box at the back to take the Tamiya light unit + some of the excess wire although most of the LED wires were either extended or shortened to fit nicely in the shell as there is not much room to spare. It took 2 tins of camel yellow to get the colour right and many hours of polishing it to a high smooth gloss, all the glass parts were also polished and laquered to improve the clarity, I used metal foil in the light recesses, the mirrors, exhausts and behind the rear lights ,I think this really improves the look, the matt black was sprayed which meant I had to mask all the yellow which takes a while but it gives it really sharp lines. I will be taking some better pictures at some point but these ones will do for now, Also I will be adding my Celica LB very shortly which I have just finished in the Red/White Schnitzer option !! anyway I hope some of you like this Countach I would really like to read any comments you may have.
Cheers

Nice idea on the LED´s in such a classic. The choice of colour is also great, and really suits that old style of sportscar.

Excited to see how the Celica turns out.

Cheers..

That is one of my favorite cars. Then also with golden rims and the top is the color. YELLOW ( I also guess it was Camel yellow, if not, close to ) WOW. I think you have to wrao it very carefully, so it wont get damaged during the long journey to Austria.. GREAT GREAT GREAT CONGRATULATIONS
