Yes, after many years at long last I could stop looking at other showrooms with envious eyes and for 1/10th of the cost too. :-)

It was a drip-drip-like wait but finally Mr T took his fingers out of his ears and listened to good sense and dropped 'The Bomb'.

After the Buggy Champ re-release this was always going to be nailed on to arrive too. The only question now is....what's the new Holy Grail??!

Does it get any better than this? From £2000 to £200, in a stroke of Mr Tamiya's pen No, it's not 1979 and you aint been in a coma... No blister pack splits this time... ...but oops, someone drilled this the wrong way! Thank God they didn't tint these.. Worth £100+ a week before the re-re came along. Shame about those skinny arches... ...but have this lined up for a box art paint job. Will be seeing plenty of this kind of action!

If you liked those pictures, you should see these...
As rare as hen^s teeth.

Highly doubt it will be any of the old 3 speeds mate...more like Wild One & Fast Attack Vehicle.

Blazing Blazer but I suppose they may use the later chassis but I hope its the original

A re-release of the old 3 speeds would cost well in excess of £400. It aint gonna happen.

I seem to remember the same sort of discussions about a certain VW Bug a couple of years ago.........

Ha ha, very true Mr Alan. Shame on you Wandy, if this rere has taught us anything it is that nothing is impossible. I've already pre-ordered my Blazer!

LOL, hey I was one of the few on here who was sure that a re-re SRB WOULD come!...but I just don't see it happening with the old 3 speeds. Why? Well simply because even after 30 years there is still nothing out there like a SRB, ie waterproof scale looking beach runners, whereas if Tamiya re-re an old 3 speed they would be taking money off themselves because sales of the modern variants would suffer. Not to mention the fact that compared to the new stuff the old 3 speeds are woeful mechanically. Personally speaking I dont think the demand is out there for them to come back...not even here on TC. I certainly wouldn't have a Blazer as it's profoundly ugly!

If the old one is box art, what you going to do on the new one. As for the 3 speed's, it could easily happen. We always seem to find the money somehow and Mr Tamiya knows that.

Will it be other SRB???????, I just would like the Blazing Blazer body at least.

I'll be painting my other one along the lines of this beauty of Stevo309's.. [Click here] ..there's a difference between finding £200 and £500 so I think that a re-re bodyshell is more hopefull. I'd stretch to £300 for a re-re Bruiser but no more than that.

58027 Ford F150 Ranger XLT with out a doubt, they are a business plain & simple & this part of the trio so will be easy to produce due to the release of the Buggy Champ (Rough Rider) & SS2010. Watch this space!

There is no reason why they will not release the old 3-speed trucks like the Toyota Hilux it's all to do with supply & demand so if the demand is there they will supply after all they are a business.

If the technology is the reason some think they will not release it they will improve things like they have with the Buggy Champ & SS2010. Technology has moved three decades so by doing this does not take away from the original but gives people a taste of the past but not as a 100% cloned copy which is very clever so not to offend people with Vintage NIB's. (They could even be worth more!)

It would have to be in excess of £400 but the F-350 kit is £408 in the U.K. & people still buy that. I can remember someone not believing me a couple of years ago that they would release the Sand Scorcher & yet it's here. Do not understand people thinking they won't come out, trust me if the market is there you will be seeing more! Watch this space!

I won't be the XLT, they have already discontinued the Buggy Champ which suggests they are now winding down production of the SRB chassis, ie they ae quitting whilst they are ahead. Again, my view is that there is a financial threshold which the masses are prepared to go to in order to obtain the vintage kits and I think the SRB price is pretty much at that threshold. Sure a small proportion of die-hards will buy whatever Tamiya put out but I can't see 50+ members here having a £500 vintage 3 speed in their showroom.

I have ALL the OLD vintage 3 speeds & they are great STILL NIB, I could only see as they are so rare their values increasing if Tamiya re-release them!

Just noticed my own comments below...well after the news of the forthcoming Avante re-release please discard anything I said about re-releasing of the old 3 speeds. Anything is possible now.
