Sorry guys,no Tamiya today.Long tim that I wanted a sailboat. The main reason is that when the wind is blowing too hard and the sun is shining I can't fly with my planes but just then its fun to have a regate ...
This one is the Estelle from Robbe,a huge piege with very large body and a high of about 2m.The Yamaha tour from Tamiya was an option but his performances on water aren't that all.

Very nice! I have not been sailing in years, Maby a r/c sailboat will cure that itch..

Lovely...!
I have a yacht built to a 30' long plan by Vic Smeed in 1975.
About 3/4 the size of the Estelle.
There's no better cure than a relaxing day sailing if you've overdone it when playing Tamiya...!
Gotta love that 'skipper' !

Thanks my friends, always a little risk not putting Tamiya's on this site but when you love Tamiya you mostly love detailled and scale lookalike models. Tamland67 indeed, finally found my 2 missing models, have fun with the Yota, always a pleasant trip to your beautifull country ,I bought a new one yesterday. Goldnest : sounds very great,If you have a date we will do this regata, sounds very exiting.I think both have about the same size (I am speeking about the boats).I allready see us in a cousy chair in front of the water,a good drink in the hand and see the boats gliding gently on the waves.Let me know.

You have a deal, my online friend! Not sure wheather I'll race the Tamiya. Maybe I'll just show up with an Estelle myself... 'cause I just fell in love with it! So... thx I guess!

It was for years that I was looking for a sailboat but I wanted minus 1,9 m high and the shape was very important.I love Tamiya of course and even if the Yamaha is beautifull I saw the Estelle the same day (Modelism fair in Paris) and it was love on the first sight.9 years later the accasion came and now it has a special place in my guest room. The boat is ready for run but I never sail before with an rc boat. Will be very exiting.

To everyone considering trying out rc sailing: the Thunder Tiger Odyssey II seems (to me) an exact copy of Tamiya's Yamaha 40 EX! Haven't got my hands on one yet, but I'm pretty sure Tamiya sold the molds to Thunder Tiger. Does anyone have more intell on this? I would much oblige!
