My Sand Scorcher 2010 arrived today. Strange to be excited about a toy car when you're 40 years old, but hey ho, you guys know what I mean right? :)

I've collected some bits for it over the last few months. An original NIP scorcher shell, the original bucket lights and lenses (although I see they're on the tree on the 2010 so will probably retain those and use the new ones) and a Scollins interior for it.

My plan is to use the original shell, which gives me the fender curves that I much prefer over the Blitzer/Monster/2010 curves, the bucket lights and lenses but mashed up with the 2010 kit front nose and other bits, which I hope will all fit OK.

The Scollins interior is about to get a coat of primer on now and I should be able to start painting that this weekend. If I get time the Scorcher original shell will also get a coat of white primer in readiness.

A moment I've been waiting for a long time!

Original Scorcher NIP Shell with Scollins interior 1st Coat Primer on the Scollins Interior NIB, but not for long.... New nose dry-fit to old Shell New nose and a Scollins Front to Front new and old Back to Back new and old Doesn't Fit in the New Box :( Are the Indicator Light Holes bigger ? Nearly there

Awesome! I have 2 scollins interiors, one is in my Alfa currently, and the second is untouched, ready for my Scorchers! Looks like you'll have the best of both worlds with that new OLD body shell..... lucky you!

No doubt about it, it´s the original shell that makes the Sand Scorcher.
The good news about the re-re is that many of the extremly expensive bodyparts are up for grabs and will cost You peanuts!

Thanks guys for the comments. @SRB Bloke - got the Scollins on eBay a couple of days ago. They do pop up from time to time. Been after one for a while - saw it and nabbed it! @everyone_else - yes, for me the curves of the original SS really made this shell, and are what make it look the right period. Anything else wasn't going to do. Picked up the shell for £150. Makes an expensive overall kit, but under £500 and I'm a happy bunny so who cares. Food can wait

What I think is strange is most 40 year old's don't get excited about anything...you're excitement over an RC car only shows that you have not forgotten what FUN is.

Well I like it a lot .
With colour you give it?Box-Art I guess.
P.S. About the excitement;
My wife always say to me when I have bought a new car.
You look like a little boy again the smile wont come off your face (LOL)
I guess we are just still little boy's with there new toy's.
That is the felling that we must hold on to.
Have fun as long as we can.
Cheers Alex

Yep, have to keep a young streak alive in you I think! @Fernando - box art masking, but not standard colours. Not sure quite what yet. Duck egg blue and a pearl white perhaps. Will try and stick to period (70's) colours but with a modern twist, like metallic or pearl.
