Hi all
At long last another project finished !! I think I started this one about a year ago or so, I remember I got the chassis and rear wheels from Tonys tamiya parts the servo deck and gearbox from autovision and the re-issue bodyset from Tamiya RC in Japan, as for the rest of the bits I cant remember ! here there an everywhere I guess.
I was having a look at the Celica LBs when I saw DeeMillers restoration job in blue, the quality of his work is amazing! when scrolling down further I saw the picture of the spare parts bodyset from Cooltoys showing the Red/white colours and I loved it, I think it makes the car look much sleeker,a big thanks to him for sending me close up pictures of the Schnitzer on the side of the box. I decided not to use the white stripe decals instead it was all done with masking and a lot of trial and error! after the nasty matt finish decals were applied I went over the whole thing with with TS13 clear gloss, you have to be careful not to put too much on for the first couple of coats or the decal ink will run!!!! but what a result the decals are gloss and best of all they dont lift unlike my Countach ones ! The colours were the standard Tamiya TS8 , TS26 and TS17 on the wheels. I can now say I know why most people would do the blue version it probably trebles the time to do it in the red and white, but although I won't be doing another one I am really glad I did it. I hope you all enjoy the pictures it looks great in the cabinet next to the Lambo's.
Cheers
Kev

Wow, just one word...STUNNING, that is a whole different car in red to me. I love all the angles you have taken and those grill teeth look awesome. In pic 6, is that a sketching of John Lennon in his NY shirt???? Last photo of your old runner looks pretty cool too, yellow wheels and all.

An amazing job, Kev! You are absolutely right, it looks WAY sleeker in these colours, and your hard work has paid off i think! The detailing on the headlights and grille look great too. This almost makes me want to make a Celica also, but i guess i would run it, and probably smash it up too, lol..

Anyway, great job done here too!.

Cheers..

Wow, this looks really great, Kevin.. As you say, much sleeker looking in these colours, compared to the normal dark blue. This almost makes me want one for myself also. Except i would run it, and probably break it, LOL.
Anyway, fantastic job you have done on both the overall paint and the details. Spot on!

Cheers..

Quite simply STUNNING !!!. I cannot believe this has had no comments. Truly fantastic level of finish and detail to body and chassis. One more thing! Well done for painting the underside of the body, so many times you see a model which is finished to a high standard only to look through the windows and see the oversprayed exterior colour on the inside. Top Work !!!
