This was brought to me by someone I work with after they saw me looking on TC during my lunch break one day. Had been sitting in their loft for years and wondered how broken it was.

Came to me with 3 wheels and a broken rear suspension bracket and quite a lot of dust and dirt. Didn't have a body shell or wing/holder either. I've replaced the rear bracket, got two new wheels and 4 new tyres. Only bit I haven't bothered with is the wing as he isn't that fussed and I'll keep looking until I find the wing bracket on its own (open to offers!)

First time I've ever sprayed a car and I'm reasonably pleased with the results. The finish itself is pretty good but I could have masked better, considering it's a first time though (all my other R/C models have been 2nd hand or pre-painted) it's not too bad. First time I've done stickers as well, harder and more time consuming than I thought it would be and again the results aren't too bad but 'could do better'. Only paid £20 for a brand new shell and decal set though (well he did!) so I'm quite pleased with that.

Other than that it had full electrics which still work so I've donated a spare transmitter I had and he'll just want a better battery and charger (old 1800 nicad and an overnight at the moment) and he should be happy! Then I can tell him about ball bearings, ESC's, tuned motors, brushless.... ;)

Comments and suggestions welcome, thanks for looking!

Top view, not bad for my first paint job Is this my best side? Or this? Insides, cleaned up nicely Rear end, check my shiny dog bones!

Looks like you brought this one back to life! I bet you are going to be painting and sticking decals a lot more in the future, it was loads of fun right?

Nice, painted my Manta Ray body last weekend and those decals wasn't the easiest job I've done..

You did a nice job, I remember painting mine, it is still intact, but I never could understand why Tamiya had you paint the car such a close shade as the decals, half of them are lost to the paint and they are a right pain in the )(*' to put on as well. Good looking, bet he has fun running it. I hope he doesn't break it again.

@bicycle Haven't attempted it yes! Can't fix it on so I am leaving it alone @Crash thanks, and you're right! I did think about black with silver windows, but I like the box art. The pictures flatter my sticker skills as well. @TOE, yes, awesome! More bodies needed!
