Suspension modification, ongoing rebuild project.
Aware with the launch of SS2010 A number of queries as to suspension modifications have been raised in the forums.......this is what I have done to my/my sons Sand Scorcher. Testing the ride on a number of differing surfaces hasn't thrown up any major issues.Infinitely more driveable than with the original setup.Minor adjustments in the shape of soft tubing spacers required to fit the RC4WD shocks so they don't clash with the uprights. Original torsion bar and springs removed and stored. As a project now in the home straight, not too much to do mechanically plenty of fine detailing left however including painting a Scollins interior etc. .Paint scheme as per my Buggy Champ with some Gold thrown in as opposed to the high vis neons on the BC. More pictures as project progresses.

Great work on the shocks, look like they fit perfect! Love the flat black wheels and gold nut, o wait........and that lovely golden front guard! But whey will see the hole Scorcher bug!

Nice job and photos. The front ball joints are prone to separation with this type of setup, which is why the Super Champ had zip ties around the front suspension arms.

The front shocks are awesome, where did you get them? I was thinking of going for a TRF set for mine, but I prefer the look of yours - much more scale.

Looks good. nice work

I would imagine the front shocks are a bit stiff for the light SS, and they have a design flaw, but luckily it's an easy fix. Check out how I made mine perfect for my CR01 [Click here] Your project looks very cool this far, now show us the big pic!

Followed Simonsays advice/link . Ran the chassis without body on the low tide sands at Ross beach Northumberland over Easter. Ride was smooth and responsive with no problems on compacted sand ramp jumps of various heights
