Hi TamiyaClub friends. Another new build I have been on and off over time is the Grasshopper. In it’s simplest form I love the basics of this kit and wanted to build something none box art but again without breaking the bank on over the top mods, hence a simplistic makeover.

The decals are once again all designed and vinyl cut on my desk top vinyl cutter and I opted for a period Martini scheme this time. Though the head is stock kit I also did the inkjet decal paper route again and this head was the ‘guinea pig’ for the design also used on my Beetlover racing head also in my showroom.

The front bumper is an anodise black prototype I used to test the water for colours. Black versions are on it’s way in a slightly different style. Wheel wise I choose the DT-02 option wheels from 3 Racing which are very good value for money and purchased from RCMart (Dinball on Ebay). Lengthed machined aluminium rear axle hex adaptors have been used so any 12mm hew fitment 2wd wheels will now fit these chassis cars as well as Lunchbox’s, FAV’s, Wild One’s etc. Due for release w/c 22nd.

Power wise a Trinity Monster Horsepower motor does it’s duty to propel the ‘Hopster’ via the standard kit Tamiya ESC. Some cheap and cheerful Eurgle 2.4ghz radio gear takes care of her destiny.

Thanks for looking.

Looks very good in that livery. I have mounted a set of these wheels (only the 4wd type) on my Boomerang. Didn't know that they came for 2wd as well.

Love it! Looks fantastic! Best send a couple pics to Tamiya HQ and suggest they release this as Grasshopper 3! If you post a couple more cars I may be tempted to let go of my boxart commitment on my collection!
