This is the 1st of 3 new BC shell's I have in development. I have gone for an oldskool styled racer look using non bright colours in a similar layout to box-art but with a twist on the colour placement. The colours used are a custom mix dull metallic burgandy, a custom mix pearl / metallic black & audi alloy silver. All the colours are painted on including the pinstripes at the bottom (no decal sheet used on this one). I have also painted the spotlight caps yellow as I feel this gives a better effect when using the yellow 'daylighter' smiley face spotlight decal. The decals are a mix of oldskool type plus modified Tamiya / Parma decals for the more individual feel (namely the 'RMR / 'TAMIYA' badges on the bonnet, 'JACKMANS WHEELS' decal under the pinstripes & 'TWINPORT' decal on either side under the driver). Many thanks to Jeremy @ Screenprintdigital, Bfst24 (Ben), Anchordriver (Ian) & Stickerbod (Andy) for all your help with the decals. An extra coat of lacquer was used on this shell to create a better finish (at the price of extended drying times). Plastic chrome pepperpot wheel caps & Paddlatracks to compliment the rest of the car. I know the rear tyre is on the wrong way round, these wheels will be modified in the near future so no worries there...

Nice work - starting to like the look of Buggy Champs with Scorcher tyres on
Paint job is pretty sweet too, understated but still very 'vintage'

Ah the old 'Padlatrak-wrong-way-round' syndrome. Suffered from it myself. Good lookin BC tho..

I like your colors too, and especially the not original Decals. Gives a really individual look, great! I have never lacquered over the decals.... do you take the original tamiya lacquer, or what else??

Thanks guys! @ Morgi74 - I never lacquer over the decals either, I tried it once on the 1st Monster Beetle I did and they lifted. I just gave the shell an extra medium/heavy coat than usual. The lacquer is 3 part automotive so you can thin it out as required!
