An ebay buy I won't let be a money pit. Upon receiving it I discovered the front axle had an axle lug snapped off. I fitted the axle with ballraces and set about replacing the lug. Firstly I took a mould of an axle lug, I used common plastercine. Using a mini pillar drill I drilled a small hole through the axle housing, the hole should be as small as possible, but big enough to accept a small self-tapper or bolt. Next I loctited the self tapper screw into the axle casing, it wasn't quite straight, but that is un-important the screw is the key to keeping the resin in place. Next place the mould in position around the screw. I mixed up some epoxy resin and let it drip onto place. After the mould was removed I carefully sanded the resin to make a smooth shaped lug and filed the screw slightly. Originally I had planned to cut the crew head off, but it does no harm to leave it in place. Without the screw the resin lug will probably snap off.
Apologies for the poor pictures, hope they are some help.
