I have now got some better pics of my latest project. I took some the other day, but they came out all rubbish hence the poster for coming soon. I bought this off ebay about a month or so ago as an on going project. the chap I got it from had stripped the car down and cleaned up the metal and chassis parts, so it all came in bags and bits! I was very pleased to say the lease with my purchase. This is my first ever wild willy, and found the construction to be, how shall i put this, challenging, barmy, no logic, quirky, fun?? it has been like no other model. I think it was designed for builders with three hands and tiny fingers, and that drive train is just nuts!!
Anyway, it has been a fab build, and is nearly finished. I have used my foiling and glass paints on the lights, polished it here and there and made up a camo type design for his helmet. bits to come are the electrics sorted (vintage boxed acoms gear included in sale) jerry can, radiator, bit of detailing and painting, and to make some stencils for the bonnet star. I Hope you like the results so far, cheers.

Nice idea using reflective sticky silver paper on the lights; on photo 6 the headlights are already fitted on the grill, how did you tighten the screw behind them? Enjoy the rest of the resto.
mighty peesh
the 'headlights' were so well stuck that I have worked in reverse, leaving the screw thread sticking through the back, and locking them in place with a spot of super glue. just a case of tightening the nuts from the inside now. thanks.

Congrats on your first Wild Willy. Looks very good so far. I concur on the remarks regarding the assembly of this kit - I have restored and built many WWs, and a couple of weeks ago, I started making a list with pics of some of the various design flaws for this model. Yes, they are so major, that I use those words. Don't get me wrong, I love this model, but the design team at Tamiya didn't think all the details throu...
