This Cheetah I got from ebay. It is in real bad bad condition with many missing parts. But it is very hard to get a Cheetah nowadays. So I couldn't be choosy. I already started cleaning and completing the chassis. But I think it will be very hard to restore the body.

Other than spending a lot of money on parts here and there, it will be probably be wiser to buy a new bodykit on ebay. About 150 dollars. But that's just my thoughts..... Good luck! It's a great car!

Sure, you are right. But that is no option for me. Call me sentimental, but this car has a history. I want to save this car and use as much of its original components as possible.

Great project , you already have some of the hard to get parts like the tools , jerry cans , the steering wheel is probably one of the rarest parts to get used & intact - so well done on that . Look foreward to seeing your progress

You got a 'Mk1 Cheetah' there.

Early Cheetahs have a white end belt motor and the 'long ear motorstay'.

Unfortunately, the rarest part is missing: the front bumper, it was never sold as a spare part.

The one you have is a XR-311 one but nevertheless it's a beauty (when restored...:-P ).

The guy who painted that legendary Cheetah is a criminal!

Hope I can turn this one back into a real beauty. @mongoose1983: exactly these were my first thoughts @DeeMiller: I hope I can ask you if I need your experience.
