Here are some static indoor pics of my ongoing Hilux project. This is how it looks for the time being, but things change frequently. Better outdoor pics will follow after the next meeting (with some new battle scars).

Your truck looks great with those realistic looking wheels and tires. What kind of tires are those? are they 1.9s ?

This is the kit Tamiya should have made. I love it man!

The scale accessories in the bed look great! Nice antenna!

@slimmy: the tires are 1.9 RC4WD Dirt Grabbers. They are mounted on some HK Landy type wheels.

@all: thanks for your kind comments. I would love to do a 'drop bed' modification to make it even more realistic, but I would need a different rear shock setup first. ok, I got a project then

Keeps getting better, did you narrow the Axial axles? I've always had to swap them for TLTs but it looks like these fit under the body quite well.

well spotted Seth The Axial axles are stupidily wide. I actually narrowed the wheels like here: [Click here]

Looks awesome, I might steal that idea

That is one super cool idea on narrowing the wheels. I don't understand the script but the pics are spot on and I think a lot of people are going to copy that. One question, why is the right rear looking a lot flatter 'carrying more weight' than the left? Truck look very cool BTW.

@Henk4focus: I don't know actually. maybe the lead rings in the tires are not 100% round.

CARRERA

That looks great. Love how low it sits on the chassis, very realistic.

Nice little trick with the wheels I;ve had to dremel a few wheels myself, but I must say that little bit makes a huge difference in the scale look and is cheaper than new axles, nice work!

it's about 5mm on each side and that's well worth the dremel work

Great Hilux this! I love the nod to the Bruiser of old. I've been looking on your German forum. I can't understand a word but there are some great builds on there!

@ delux: yes there are some great builds. we had a annual meeting lately where two represents from Losi US appeared and they were quite impressed by some of the scale rigs.
