To add some info on the differences between the TG/TB Longarm kit and stock, I made these photos.
OCD has a pic of the Long Arm kit here - http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=99397&id=2400
If you look carefully at the arrows to see hingepin placement, you'll notice that the actual track width does not change, but the points of suspension travel do. Very interesting! Different diameter axles and bearing are needed! The universals do not come with the LA kit. Parts pictures are of the rear of the car. ---- Cheers,

Thanks for posting this excellent visual Skottoman -- I think the misconception that the LA kit made the track wider may be the reason the TB01/TG10 died out so quickly. Most people probably thought they were getting a TG10 conversion, rather than a redesign of the stock setup, and the TB EVO was there for anyone serious about racing these things.

Yah, these turned out pretty well! They are 2 completely different (down to the bearings) setups.

BTW, I think you meant 'universals' and not differentials' ''

OCD, Your right. Fixed. Updated some photos.

I have no idea what this stuff is or what it fits. But your description of the difference between the two was so good i had to comment

So is there a long universal shaft set available to go with this hop-up?

This is really interesting stuff. With some help from OCD (and better use of my eyes) I finally got my TB01 to sit level last night. I've found the LA suspension kit on a couple of sites but none in stock, so I'll keep hunting. I think the TB01 with this will make a good rally car (well, OCD has proved it does!).

Also, not sure if you are aware but Tamiya did release a long universal shaft for the stock arms. It came with 10mm (or thereabouts) hexs that allowed for a wider stance. Hence you could obtain some width without having to purchase the arms. I have a TB01 Enzo FXX in my showroom with aluminum arms and the longer universals fitted (rear only).

Igottamiya - Yeah, the Uni's are very confusing. Although the point here is showing that the actual track width on the TG/TB with LA doesn't get wider. Perhaps the stock (5mm diameter) uni's have longer shafts which allows use of wider hexes. They wouldn't fit the LA kit however.
