A few weeks ago this 58001 came across my way. The box has seen better days.

BUT :-) the car is in new built condition and never driven. I put in the batterys, moved the msc and the tires were turning happy - perhaps for the first time ? :-))
It came with the green body and original manual in english language. This will be a restoration project for the future. The chassis needs only some polishing, the tyres are in excellent condition.

What do you think, should I leave the body as it is, or should I put on some Vaillant tamtec decals and put on a clear coat of paint? Or should I paint it cobalt green (lexan-paint) with a coat of clear paint? OR should I put on the black plastic body from the rere Black Porsche? So many options ;-)

Comments and opinions are welcome as always. :-)

turning for the first time ? what a wonderful sound :-)

If it were me..and I wish it was..I would clean up the body..leave it green (probably clear coat it after some decals), be patient and get some original decals if possible. SWEEET!

I would stay away from the PS Cobalt green. The PS paint it very thick compared to TS paints, and will probably fill in all details of the body. I am in the exact same dilemma as you with my 934, and mine has been sitting on the shelf for a year awaiting my descision, LOL

If it was mine i would paint the body boxart color and clear coat with some good quality repro valliant stickers. Now, keep your eye on the watch... you are becoming sleepy. yes, very sleepy. you now want to send this to slimmy...........lol

Leave it green. It will retain more of that 'Original 934' look. I have one on my shelf and it looks great.

Thank you so much guys for all your comments. I think I will put on the Vaillant stickers with a clear coat of paint. As larbut says, the PS paint is thick and will probably fill the details. But this one has to wait. So less time at the moment...

Cool that you had it 'running'. I still have the idea to run a used one of mine. With batteries and the original controller. Really nice pictures!!
