After a long time my Bear Hawk in 'Stealth-Look' is finaly finished :-)
The body is painted in gun metal, also the damper stay and the wheelmount. I have added some gold nuts all around and added an sand scorcher driver with a head from beetlelover. The driver is mounted on a carbon-look plate. I love the little NOS- bottle, mounted in the back of the driver. I hope he dont use it too much.. ;-)
Also mounted some side mirrors and an antenna on the roof. I hope you like it!
Comments are always much appreciated! :-)

Wow, you took a homely box-art as usual bear hawk and turned it into a diamond, nice job! A++ Kinda like the homely librarian with glasses that looks great with a makeover and new wardrobe.

WoooW! Thanks for all the compliments.
At the moment i do alot of cars in 'gun-metallic' It's nice how you can pimp up a 'simple' car with colors and some details!

This looks great - the Madcap & Bear Hawk kinda took over from the Hornet as the entry level buggy from Tamiya... but you've made it look far more exotic - great vision & imagination using the driver figure parts & mirrors.. NOS bottle looks ace!

I've always thought the Bear Hawk had so much potential. This confirms it! Superb work and doesn't even look like a Tamiya!!!!! Straight over to Tamiya101!...

That is just about the best looking BearHawk on TC. It has been a while since an ugly duckling like this into a nice looker. BearHawks would certainly have sold more here if they looked like this instead of the box art.

Powerbruiser

26-May-2010

@CrashCramer: Thanks alot! Maybe tamiya should be more flexibel in different paint job's! It would be nice if the would proposal more paintjob's on the box and put in several stickers more, to creat different paintjobs if you like. Otherwise the 'Boxart' style is classical Tamiya and should be bether not changed.. What are you thinking, mates?

Fantastic, absolutely Love it! Great Work

Excellent. I've always been a fan of box art paint jobs but this just proves how much better they can look! You have taken a cheap looking Tamiya and turned it into an expensive looking tamiya. It really looks better quality now. I may have to rethink all my box art plans lol!

Powerbruiser

Thanks a lot for the kind words woomagic!
I hope you have not too much work now!
I probably will try to make a Frog and a Bigwig in the same style.

Hi again, just looking through my favourites list and this paint job stills blows me away! It looks excellent! May I ask what colour it is and where did you get it from? I'd love to paint my original Blackfoot in this colour. (gun metal - is that the name? Where from?) cheers mate.

Powerbruiser

25-Jun-2011

And thanks a lot for the kind word again...
The color is indeed the original 'gun metallic' from Tamiya. I'm also thinking about doing a Blackfoot in this colour!
Wish you a good time and success with your project! Cheer, Phil

woomagic

28-Jun-2011

Cheers Phil. I want to paint my Blackfoot in this colour too. Check out 'Dam 10' he has done it in this colour. Read the comments - he also used gun metal and a ford car paint matches. Definitely looks the best colour for the Blackfoot.
Look forward to seeing yours.
